ALMATY (Reuters) – Kazakhstan forecasts its current account surplus in 2023 to reach $2.2 billion, down from $6.1 billion in 2022, central bank governor Galymzhan Pirmatov said on Friday.
“The current account of the balance of payments, with the projected decline in commodity prices and steady growth in imports, will gradually move from the previous year’s surplus zone to the deficit zone by the end of 2025,” he said.
