BANGKOK (Reuters) – Thailand’s consumer spending over the Lunar New Year period could rise 4.5% to a five-year high of 52 billion baht ($1.54 billion), helped by government stimulus measures and higher income, a survey showed on Friday.
The estimated spending compares with 50 billion baht ($1.48 billion) last year, according to the survey by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
