EU’s Kallas calls foreign ministers’ meeting to talk about US, Ukraine

MUNICH (Reuters) – European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has invited foreign ministers from the bloc attending the Munich Security Conference to meet on Sunday to discuss relations with the Trump administration and the war in Ukraine.

Kallas’ move was prompted by U.S. President Donald Trump’s call this week with Russian President Vladimir Putin and recent U.S. statements on Ukraine, an EU official told Reuters on Friday, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“The aim of the meeting will be to share information and take stock of the latest contacts with United States Administration representatives and with Ukraine at the Munich Security Conference,” said the invitation to the meeting, which was seen by Reuters.
