Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Bank names new chairman

(Reuters) – Hong Kong-based Hang Seng Bank said on Wednesday Edward Cheng, chief of Wing Tai Properties, will succeed Irene Lee as the chairman of the board.

Cheng is currently also the deputy chairman at Wing Tai Properties, a diversified developer with a portfolio ranging from commercial to residential projects.

Lee, who joined the board in 2014, will step down from her position at the end of the bank’s annual general meeting in May.

The board said Cheng’s appointment will bring “extensive local and global experience in finance and business” and his term will be for three years, following his election at the annual meeting.
