SEOUL (Reuters) – The Bank of Korea lowered interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point on Tuesday, cutting rates for a third time in the current easing cycle as growth concerns take centre stage.
The Bank of Korea (BOK) cut its benchmark interest rate to 2.75% at its monetary policy review, an outcome expected by all but one of the 36 economists polled by Reuters.
Governor Rhee Chang-yong holds a news conference at around 0210 GMT, which will be livestreamed via YouTube.
