(Reuters) – Ofwat, which regulates the water industry in England and Wales, said on Tuesday it has formally referred requests from five companies for a re-determination of their price review to the UK’s competition regulator.
The five companies whose requests have been referred to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) are Anglian Water, Northumbrian Water, South East Water, Southern Water and Wessex Water, Ofwat said in a statement.
The water regulator also said that it has agreed to Thames Water’s request for deferring its request reference to the CMA by up to 18 weeks.
