JAKARTA (Reuters) – China’s Fujian provincial government plans to invest 16 trillion rupiah ($975 million) in Indonesia’s special economic zone in Batang in Central Java province, Indonesia’s chief economic minister said.

Airlangga Hartarto said in a video statement uploaded late on Tuesday that the planned  investment had been discussed at an earlier meeting of President Prabowo Subianto and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

He did not provide further detail about the planned investment, though he said Prabowo would visit the  special economic zone in Batang on Thursday.
