Changes to India’s standing deposit facility rate since April 2022

MUMBAI (Reuters) – The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday lowered its key repo rate on Wednesday for a second consecutive time and changed its monetary policy stance signalling room for more cuts ahead, as it seeks to boost the sluggish economy, which is facing further pressure from U.S. tariffs.

The monetary policy committee cut the key lending rate, or repo rate, to 6.00%, along with the standing deposit facility rate to 5.75%.

The RBI also adjusted the marginal standing facility to 6.25%. It did not announce any changes to the cash reserve ratio (CRR) that banks are required to hold.
