WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that a deal between U.S. Steel and Nippon Steel could be a part of tariff negotiations with Japan, but added he doubted it would be.
“If Nippon wants to come in here, they’re working on it very hard. I have great respect for Nippon,” he told a press briefing. “But we want to have U.S. Steel remain in this country.”
