ATHENS (Reuters) – Greek authorities have arrested a man who was photographing and videotaping military material acting on behalf of another person, police in northern Greece said on Wednesday.
The arrest followed a joint operation by the National Intelligence Service and the Alexandroupolis Crime Prosecution and Investigation Sub-Directorate, the police said in a statement.
The 58-year old man had been engaged by another person with a criminal background, officials said, adding that authorities had obtained evidence that the detainee was sending the relevant material to the other person via an encrypted application.
Greek authorities were investigating information linking the case with Russian intelligence, the officials said on condition of anonymity.
