(Reuters) -South Africa’s Impala Platinum on Thursday restored dividend payments despite a 70% fall in annual profit on the back of persistent low metal prices and a dip in production.
Impala posted headline earnings of 732 million rand ($41.68 million) in the year ended June 30, down from 2.4 billion rand the previous year.
The company declared a dividend of 1.65 rand per share. It skipped a dividend last year after recognising $1 billion impairments due to the decline in the value of its assets on the back of plunging metal prices.
