MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia accused Ukraine on Wednesday of engaging in “provocations” to disrupt the rotation of an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine.
Earlier on Wednesday, Russia said Ukraine had launched a drone attack on the city near the plant, which lies in Russian-controlled territory, with drone debris landing within 300 metres of one of the plant’s reactors.
The plant’s management said the regular rotation of inspectors to monitor safety at the facility had been interrupted by Ukraine’s actions.
Kyiv said earlier on Wednesday that Moscow was to blame for the disruption.
