BEIJING (Reuters) – China opposes accusations and the shifting of responsibility on the issue of fentanyl-related substances, according to an official white paper released on Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
China has carried out “in-depth” cooperation with relevant countries, including the U.S., in addressing the issue of fentanyl-related substances and their precursors, the white paper said, adding that cooperations have “achieved significant results”.
U.S. President Donald Trump increased tariffs on all Chinese imports to 20% from the previous 10% levy on Tuesday to punish Beijing for failing to halt shipments of the deadly opioid fentanyl to the U.S.
