WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The European Union and the United States can work out a deal on trade but they may need to do have some “serious” and “tedious” negotiations on some sectors, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said on Tuesday.
“I’m sure that there can be a dialogue,” Lagarde said on CNBC.
“There might be sectors where serious negotiations need to be had,” she added. “It’s going to require tedious, serious work to get down to what is acceptable to the parties and where the vulnerability points are addressed. And it’s not just on one side. It’s on both sides.”
